The exploration of life, death and all things in between. Visual art and performance now mingle to form a new vehicle that lays out an endless road to travel.
Although primarily a sculptor, Stephen was given the opportunity in 2007 to become a member of the Resident Company of Artists (RCA) at Theatre Junction GRAND www.theatrejunction.com in Calgary, Alberta. An international, multi-disciplinary company, the RCA proposes and creates new work presented in Calgary and abroad. Theatre, dance, music and visual art cross each other in a search for new languages and forms. Stephen has been involved in the creation and performance of all RCA creations since joining. These include Little Red River, On the Side of the Road and Lucy Lost Her Heart.
With a varied background as a sculptor, musician, youth and crisis intervention worker and community liaison for people with disabilities, Stephen uses these experiences as tools to create and develop his ideas and delve further into his obsession of discovery of the world around him.
He has participated in sculpture symposia in Vietnam, Thailand, and Canada, working with artists from Thailand, Ireland, Czech Republic, Scotland, France, Sweden, the Philippines, Poland, Russia, Austria, Japan, the Netherlands and more. Stephen's sculptural work is in private and public collections in Canada, the U.S., South Africa, Vietnam, and at the University of Chiang Mai, Thailand.
